Surreyed Craig On An Eshered Brown.

'We weren't all that excited about it, to be honest. We also knew that King Monkey Man had a policy of no Roses tunes -- but there was a bit of anticipation to see tunes like "My Star," "Fear," and "Northern Lights."

We arrived and weren't surprised to only see about 30 people waiting for the gates to open.

"Here we go?"

We sauntered in, and had a walk around -- the gardens were lovely. People started filtering in, by the time Aziz started his (fantastic) set, there was quite a buzz, and lots of people scattered around -- by the end of the set, the gorgeous country grounds were full.

Ian came on stage to the backing soundtrack of 'Enter the Dragon' -- everyone roared and chanted "IAN BROWN." His band followed. Immediately, I noticed nobody on keyboards or decks or anything. The bass player from Fools Gold started "I Wanna Be Adored." Everyone laughed, they knew the score -- they were just teasing -- but no, they played the whole song. Ian's voice was golden! Beanies bopped everywhere, massive smiles all round -- everyone knew the words. At the end of the song, Ian says, "You were expecting these tunes, right? Any requests?"

He listens for a minute, then goes through most of the Stone Roses self-titled album, plus "Mersey Paradise," "Where Angels Play," and "Sally Cinnamon." The sound overall was loud and clear, and Ian's voice was perfect.'
